How the High Roller Works

The EZ Trim High Roller is an adjustable trellis netting application tool designed to make commercial trellis installation faster, easier, and more consistent.

The High Roller holds up to three rolls of trellis netting simultaneously on its lower 1-inch roll-support bars. As the netting is pulled from the rolls, it passes over the adjustable upper guide bar before extending across the cultivation bench.

The guide bar can be raised to change the height at which the netting is delivered. This allows installers to pull trellis netting above existing plants and stakes, helping prevent the netting from dragging across or catching on the cultivation area during installation.

The High Roller's compact adjustable frame and 6-inch casters also allow it to maneuver through tight hallways, doorways, and cultivation spaces. Once positioned at the end of the bench, the casters are locked and the High Roller remains stationary while the netting is pulled across the bench.

Before Installation

1. Position the High Roller

Maneuver the High Roller to the end of the cultivation bench where the trellis netting will be installed.

The 6-inch casters allow the unit to move through tight cultivation spaces and roll over common obstacles such as hoses.

Once the High Roller is properly aligned with the bench, lock the casters firmly in place.

The High Roller should remain stationary while the netting is being pulled across the bench.

2. Adjust the Width

Loosen the width-adjustment knobs and slide the frame to accommodate the width of the trellis netting being used.

Use the integrated tape measure on the frame to accurately position the width.

Once properly adjusted, tighten the knobs securely.

3. Adjust the Guide Bar Height

The upper guide bar controls the height at which the netting is delivered from the High Roller.

Loosen the guide-bar height-adjustment knobs and slide the rails until the guide bar reaches the desired height.

The integrated tape measure can be used to create consistent settings between benches or cultivation rooms.

The guide bar can be raised up to approximately 8 feet, allowing the netting to be pulled above existing plants, stakes, or other cultivation structures.

Once the desired height is reached, tighten the adjustment knobs securely.

Loading Trellis Netting

Step 1 — Load the Rolls

Slide the trellis netting roll onto one of the 1-inch roll-support bars.

Center the roll on the bar.

Step 2 — Secure the Support Bar

Install the support bar into the High Roller and secure it using the locking hubs.

Verify that the bar is securely seated while still allowing the netting roll to unwind normally.

Step 3 — Add Additional Rolls

Repeat the process for additional rolls when installing multiple layers.

The High Roller can hold and dispense up to three rolls of trellis netting simultaneously.

Step 4 — Route the Netting Over the Guide Bar

Pull the leading edge of each roll upward and drape the netting over the upper guide bar.

The netting should feed freely from the lower roll, over the guide bar, and toward the cultivation bench.

The rolls themselves remain on their support bars. It is the adjustable guide bar, not the rolls, that determines the height from which the netting is delivered.

Installing Trellis Netting Over Benching

For best control, use two installers, with one person positioned on each side of the cultivation bench.

Step 1 — Lock the High Roller in Position

Position the High Roller at the end of the bench, align it with the cultivation area, and lock the casters.

Do not move the High Roller down the bench while dispensing the netting.

Step 2 — Set the Guide Bar Height

Adjust the guide bar according to the cultivation conditions.

If the bench is empty, the guide bar can be positioned at a convenient working height.

If plants or stakes are already present, raise the guide bar sufficiently so the netting can be pulled over the cultivation area without unnecessarily dragging across or catching on the plants or stakes.

Step 3 — Begin Pulling the Netting

With one installer on each side of the bench, take hold of the outside edges of the netting.

Begin walking down the bench together.

As the installers pull, the trellis netting will unwind from the stationary rolls, travel up and over the guide bar, and extend across the cultivation bench.

Step 4 — Keep the Netting Even

Both installers should move down the bench at approximately the same pace.

Keeping the two sides reasonably even helps maintain alignment and prevents the netting from twisting as it is pulled.

Step 5 — Install Over Existing Plants or Stakes

When plants or stakes are already present, the elevated guide bar allows the netting to approach the bench from above.

Pull the netting across the cultivation area above the plants and stakes, rather than dragging it through them.

Once the required length has been extended, the netting can be carefully lowered into its intended position.

Step 6 — Position and Secure the Netting

Position the netting at the desired trellis level and secure it to the cultivation structure using your normal attachment method.

Apply enough tension to properly position the mesh without unnecessarily stretching or distorting it.

Cut the netting from the roll once the required length has been installed.

Installing Multiple Layers

The High Roller can hold up to three rolls at the same time, allowing multiple layers of trellis netting to be deployed from one setup.

Load each roll onto its own support bar and route the netting over the guide bar.

The system can then be used to lay multiple layers of netting directly over the benching.

This can reduce the repeated handling, positioning, and setup associated with working with individual loose rolls.

Measuring and Pre-Cutting Trellis Netting

The High Roller can also be used as a measuring and pre-cutting station.

This allows cultivation teams to prepare netting before taking it into the cultivation area.

Step 1

Load up to three rolls of trellis netting onto the High Roller.

Step 2

Route the netting over the guide bar.

Step 3

Pull out the required length of netting.

Step 4

Measure the amount required for the cultivation bench or row.

Step 5

Cut the netting to length.

Up to three rolls can be rolled out, measured, and pre-cut during the same setup.

Rewinding Unused Trellis Netting

The High Roller can also be used to roll unused netting back onto the rolls.

Keep the netting aligned while rewinding so it returns evenly to the roll and does not become tangled.

Secure the loose end before moving or storing the High Roller.

Tips for Best Results

Lock the High Roller during installation. Use the casters to maneuver the unit into position, then lock them before pulling netting.

Use two people when installing over benches. One installer on each side provides better control and alignment.

Raise the guide bar—not the rolls. The rolls remain on the lower support bars. Adjusting the upper guide bar changes the delivery height of the netting.

Use the guide bar to clear plants and stakes. Raising the guide bar allows the netting to be pulled above existing cultivation structures before being lowered into position.

Keep both installers moving together. This helps keep the netting square and centered over the bench.

Use the integrated tape measures. Both width and guide-bar height adjustments include measurements for repeatable positioning.

Load multiple rolls when appropriate. Up to three rolls can be installed simultaneously for multi-layer trellising or pre-cutting.

Keep pathways clear when repositioning the High Roller. Its compact frame and casters are designed for maneuverability in tight cultivation spaces, but hoses and other obstacles should still be managed when possible.

Rewind unused material. Excess netting can be rolled back up rather than discarded or left loose.
