PRODUCT DESCRIPTION & SPECIFICATIONS

The EZ Trim EZ Air is a customizable commercial airflow system designed to provide targeted sub-canopy and above-canopy air circulation in indoor cultivation facilities. Rather than relying only on traditional circulation fans to move air around the outside of a dense canopy, EZ Air distributes airflow along the length of the cultivation row where it is needed.

The system uses an 8-inch, 735 CFM inline fan to pressurize a 6-inch polyethylene air tube. The tubing contains ½-inch air outlets spaced every 6 inches, creating distributed airflow throughout the length of the grow area.

For sub-canopy airflow, the outlets are positioned at approximately the 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock positions, directing air upward and outward toward the underside of the canopy. For above-canopy airflow, the tubing can be rotated so the outlets are positioned at approximately 5 o'clock and 7 o'clock, directing airflow downward and outward toward the plants.

Published EZ Air measurements show air velocity of approximately 4 meters per second at the outlets and up to approximately 2 meters per second at a distance of 2 feet from the tubing.

Adjustable to Your Cultivation Facility

EZ Air is designed to accommodate different rack systems, plant rows, canopy heights, and cultivation layouts.

The adjustable mounting system uses horizontal and vertical mounting bars that allow the fan and air tube to be repositioned as plants develop. A pulley system supports and centers the opposite end of the air tube, providing additional adjustment of the tube's position within the cultivation row.

EZ Air can be configured with single, double, or quad air-tube runs, making it adaptable to both single-tier and multi-tier cultivation environments. Systems can also be configured to provide a combination of sub-canopy and above-canopy airflow.

As canopy height and density change throughout the growing cycle, the fan assembly and air tube can be repositioned to maintain airflow in the desired area.

Distributed Airflow Throughout the Canopy

Dense plant canopies can create areas with limited air movement and higher localized humidity. EZ Air is designed to continuously introduce circulating air into these areas, helping reduce stagnant pockets of air and create more consistent airflow throughout the cultivation space.

Moving air across plant and leaf surfaces can also help disrupt the still boundary layer surrounding the leaves and support gas exchange between the plant and the surrounding environment.

EZ Air should be used as part of a facility's overall environmental-management strategy alongside appropriate HVAC, dehumidification, temperature, humidity, filtration, and other environmental controls.

Designed for Commercial Grow Rooms

The lightweight polyethylene air tubing can be cut to fit individual cultivation rows and removed when necessary for cleaning or replacement. The tubing can be soaked in an appropriate disinfectant, reinstalled, and dried internally by operating the fan.

When supplemental CO₂ is used, the system can also draw CO₂-enriched room air from near the fan intake and distribute that air throughout the canopy.

With adjustable positioning, multiple airflow configurations, and distributed outlets along the cultivation row, EZ Air gives commercial growers a flexible way to add targeted airflow above and below the plant canopy.

PRODUCT MANUAL

System Overview

The EZ Trim EZ Air is an adjustable airflow distribution system designed for sub-canopy and above-canopy airflow in both single-tier and multi-tier cultivation facilities.

The system uses an 8-inch, 735 CFM inline fan to pressurize a 6-inch polyethylene air tube. Air is distributed through ½-inch openings spaced every 6 inches along the tubing.

EZ Air can be configured as a single, double, or quad air-tube run, allowing the system to accommodate different rack structures, canopy heights, plant rows, and cultivation layouts.

The mounting system provides adjustment of the air tube along the X, Y, and Z axes, allowing the position of the airflow system to be changed as plants and canopy height develop.

Air-Tube Orientation

Correct orientation of the airflow openings is important.

Sub-Canopy Airflow

For sub-canopy use, position the ½-inch air outlets at approximately the:

10 o'clock and 2 o'clock positions

This directs airflow upward and outward from the tube toward the underside of the plant canopy.

Above-Canopy Airflow

For above-canopy use, rotate the air tube so the outlets are approximately at the:

5 o'clock and 7 o'clock positions

This directs airflow downward and outward toward the top of the canopy.

Step 1 — Install the Horizontal Mounting Bar

Mount the horizontal bar to the grow rack.

The adjustable L-brackets allow the horizontal mounting bar to accommodate different styles and dimensions of cultivation racking.

Position the brackets appropriately for the rack and securely tighten the mounting hardware.

Step 2 — Install the Vertical Bar

Slide the vertical bar onto the Glide bracket attached to the horizontal mounting assembly.

Position the vertical bar as required for the cultivation layout and tighten the bolts to secure it.

The horizontal and vertical mounting system provides the adjustability needed to accommodate different rack structures, canopy heights, and plant-row configurations.

Step 3 — Install the Fan Assembly

Slide the fan assembly onto the vertical bar.

Adjust the height and position of the fan based on:

  • Canopy height

  • Row spacing

  • Desired air-tube position

  • Sub-canopy or above-canopy configuration

Secure the fan assembly once the desired position has been established.

The system can be repositioned later as the plants and canopy develop.

Step 4 — Configure the Number of Air-Tube Runs

EZ Air can be configured as a:

Single air-tube run

Double air-tube run

Quad air-tube run

For a double run, repeat the mounting and fan installation procedure for the additional air tube.

For a quad configuration or a system combining above-canopy and sub-canopy airflow, reposition the horizontal and vertical mounting bars as required and install the four fan and air-tube assemblies in their appropriate locations.

Step 5 — Connect the Air Tube

Slide a hose clamp over the end of the 6-inch polyethylene air tube.

Slide the air tube over the 6-inch reducer duct on the fan assembly.

Position the hose clamp over the connection and tighten it securely to attach the air tube to the reducer.

Step 6 — Unroll and Cut the Air Tube

Unroll the air tube along the length of the cultivation rack.

Extend it to the end of the rack and determine the required length.

Once properly positioned, cut the air tube to length.

While laying out the tube, make sure it is not unnecessarily twisted so the airflow openings can be positioned correctly for either sub-canopy or above-canopy use.

Step 7 — Close the End of the Air Tube

At the far end of the air tube, fold the tubing back to create a loop.

Secure the folded tail with a zip tie.

This closes the end of the tube while also creating the attachment point used by the pulley system.

Step 8 — Attach the Pulley

Connect the pulley to the loop created at the end of the air tube.

Secure the pulley system to the grow rack.

Attach one end of the pulley to one side of the rack, pull the system taut, and secure the opposite end to the other side of the rack.

The pulley supports and positions the end of the air tube.

Step 9 — Center the Air Tube

Use the release button on the pulley to adjust the air tube's position.

Center the tube within the plant row and position it so the airflow will be directed toward the desired portion of the canopy.

The pulley and adjustable fan mounting system work together to allow the air tube's position to be changed as required.

Step 10 — Set the Outlet Direction

Before powering the system, verify the orientation of the ½-inch air outlets.

For sub-canopy airflow, position the outlets at approximately:

10 o'clock and 2 o'clock

For above-canopy airflow, position the outlets at approximately:

5 o'clock and 7 o'clock

Check the orientation along the entire length of the tube.

Step 11 — Power the System

Once all air-tube runs are installed and properly positioned, plug the fans into the appropriate power source.

Power on the fans.

The 8-inch inline fan pressurizes the 6-inch polyethylene tube and forces air through the ½-inch openings spaced every 6 inches.

Published EZ Air measurements show airflow of approximately:

4 meters per second at each outlet

and up to approximately:

2 meters per second measured 2 feet from the air tube

Walk the cultivation area and confirm that each tube has inflated properly and is distributing air as intended.

Adjusting EZ Air as the Canopy Grows

EZ Air is designed to remain adjustable throughout the cultivation cycle.

As plant height and canopy density change, the fan position and pulley height can be readjusted to maintain the desired relationship between the air tube and the canopy.

Periodically inspect the system and reposition it as necessary so airflow continues to reach the intended area.

For sub-canopy applications, the objective is to maintain airflow near the underside of the canopy as the plants increase in size.

CO₂ Placement

When supplemental CO₂ is being used, the EZ Air installation video recommends positioning the CO₂ source near the fan intake/end of the fan system.

This allows the EZ Air system to help distribute the CO₂-rich room air through the canopy.

CO₂ concentration and environmental setpoints should still be managed according to the cultivation facility's normal environmental-control procedures.

Single, Double & Quad Configurations

Single Run

A single fan and air tube provide one distributed airflow run along the cultivation row.

Double Run

Two fan and air-tube assemblies can be positioned to provide additional airflow coverage within a tier or cultivation area.

Quad Run

Four fan and air-tube assemblies can be configured where additional coverage is required.

A quad configuration can also be used to provide a combination of above-canopy and sub-canopy airflow.

The adjustable horizontal and vertical mounting hardware allows these configurations to be adapted to different rack structures, canopy heights, and rows of plants.

Cleaning & Service

One of the useful details in the installation video is that the air tube is removable for cleaning or replacement.

Removing the Air Tube

Turn off the fan before servicing the system.

Loosen the hose clamp connecting the air tube to the 6-inch reducer.

Disconnect the pulley from the loop at the opposite end of the tube.

Slide/remove the air tube from the system.

Cleaning the Air Tube

The EZ Air installation video specifies cleaning the polyethylene tube by soaking it in a tub of disinfectant.

Use a disinfectant appropriate for your cultivation facility and compatible with the polyethylene tubing.

After soaking, reinstall the air tube onto the system.

Reconnect the hose clamp and pulley.

Drying After Cleaning

Once the cleaned tube has been reinstalled, run the fan to dry the inside of the air tube.

Confirm that the tube is completely open, properly oriented, and distributing air correctly before returning the system to normal operation.

Frequently asked questions

1. What is the EZ Trim EZ Air?

The EZ Trim EZ Air is a commercial airflow system designed to distribute air below and above the plant canopy in indoor cultivation facilities.

An 8-inch inline fan pressurizes a 6-inch polyethylene air tube with ½-inch outlets spaced every 6 inches, distributing airflow along the length of the cultivation row rather than from a single point.

2. What is the advantage of sub-canopy airflow?

Dense plant canopies can restrict air movement beneath the plants and around the undersides of leaves, creating areas of stagnant air and localized humidity.

EZ Air delivers airflow directly into these areas to help maintain air movement throughout the canopy and support more consistent environmental conditions around plant surfaces.

EZ Air is intended to complement—not replace—a facility's HVAC, dehumidification, temperature, humidity, and other environmental-control systems.

3. Can EZ Air provide both sub-canopy and above-canopy airflow?

Yes. EZ Air can be configured for both sub-canopy and above-canopy airflow.

For sub-canopy use, the air outlets are positioned at approximately 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock, directing air upward and outward.

For above-canopy use, the tubing can be oriented with the outlets at approximately 5 o'clock and 7 o'clock, directing airflow downward and outward toward the canopy.

4. How much airflow does EZ Air provide?

EZ Air uses an 8-inch inline fan rated at 735 CFM to pressurize the 6-inch polyethylene air tube.

EZ Trim's published measurements show air velocity of approximately 4 meters per second at the ½-inch outlets and up to approximately 2 meters per second at a distance of 2 feet from the tubing.

Actual airflow within a cultivation facility can vary based on system configuration, tubing length, positioning, and the surrounding environment.

5. Can EZ Air be adjusted as the plants grow?

Yes. Adjustability is an important part of the EZ Air system.

The horizontal and vertical mounting system allows the fan and air tube position to be changed as canopy height and plant density develop. A pulley system supports the opposite end of the air tube and provides additional positioning adjustment.

This allows growers to maintain the desired relationship between the airflow tubing and canopy throughout the cultivation cycle.

6. Can EZ Air be used in multi-tier cultivation?

Yes. EZ Air can be configured for single-tier or multi-tier cultivation and can use single, double, or quad air-tube runs depending on the facility layout.

Multiple runs can also be arranged to provide a combination of above-canopy and sub-canopy airflow within the cultivation system.

7. Can EZ Air be used with supplemental CO₂?

Yes. When supplemental CO₂ is being used, the EZ Air installation method allows the CO₂ source to be positioned near the fan intake, where CO₂-enriched room air can be drawn into the system and distributed through the air tube and throughout the canopy.

CO₂ concentration and environmental setpoints should still be controlled and monitored using the cultivation facility's normal environmental-control equipment.

8. How do you clean the EZ Air tubing?

The polyethylene air tube is designed to be removable.

Turn off the system, loosen the hose clamp at the fan reducer, disconnect the opposite end from the pulley system, and remove the tubing. The EZ Air installation instructions specify that the tubing can be soaked in an appropriate disinfectant.

After cleaning, reinstall the tubing and run the fan to help dry the inside of the air tube before returning the system to normal operation.

For this product, I think these are enough. They give AI/search engines particularly useful context around sub-canopy airflow, above-canopy airflow, multi-tier growing, CO₂ distribution, airflow measurements, adjustability, and cleaning without just repeating the product description.
